A traditional botanical for mental and active-day routines

Ginkgo biloba is one of the world's oldest surviving tree species and has a particularly interesting place in botanical traditions surrounding the mind, ageing and circulation.

Our Organic Ginkgo Biloba Capsules contain 100% pure organic ginkgo leaf powder, providing 250 mg per capsule and 1,000 mg in the recommended daily serving.

Ginkgo is especially familiar to people exploring botanical approaches to memory, concentration and mental performance, as well as traditional plant-based routines centred around circulation and healthy ageing.

Rather than using a concentrated standardised extract, this supplement contains the powdered ginkgo leaf itself, providing the botanical material in a simple, minimally formulated form.

A little history

Ginkgo biloba has a remarkable story that stretches back millions of years. The ginkgo belongs to an ancient lineage of trees that existed long before many of the flowering plants we know today. As the only surviving species of the Ginkgoaceae family, it is often described as a “living fossil.”

Native to China, ginkgo trees have been cultivated for centuries and were traditionally planted around temples, monasteries and gardens. From East Asia, the tree eventually reached Europe in the early 18th century, where its unusual fan-shaped leaves quickly attracted the attention of botanists and plant collectors.

The name Ginkgo biloba also tells part of its story. Biloba refers to the characteristic two-lobed form often seen in its leaves. Today, the ginkgo is found in parks, botanical gardens and city streets around the world, where it is admired for its resilience, longevity and spectacular golden-yellow autumn foliage.

Few plants connect the ancient botanical world with our modern landscapes quite as beautifully as the ginkgo.
