Turmeric Organic Essential Oil, 5ml
-
Warm, earthy and distinctly spicy, Turmeric Organic Essential Oil is distilled from the rhizomes of Curcuma longa, the golden tropical plant often known as turmeric or Indian saffron.
The rhizomes used for this essential oil come from Madagascar. Turmeric belongs to the ginger family and has been valued for centuries throughout Asia in culinary traditions, Ayurveda and botanical preparations.
Turmeric Essential Oil captures the volatile aromatic fraction of the rhizome, giving it a very different composition and character from turmeric powder or curcumin extracts. Its deep, earthy fragrance has warm, woody and gently peppery nuances.
In aromatherapy, Turmeric Essential Oil is particularly valued in preparations for digestive comfort and muscles and joints. It can be diluted in a carrier oil for abdominal massage or incorporated into massage blends for tired, uncomfortable or overworked muscles and joints, including after physical activity.
Its warm aromatic character also makes it an interesting choice for comforting and grounding diffuser blends. As a food-grade essential oil, it can also be used in very small quantities to bring the distinctive warm, earthy character of turmeric to culinary preparations.
