Liver Support – Digestive Comfort – Natural Resistance

Our organic Agrimony infusion is made from 100% flowering aerial parts of Agrimonia eupatoria, carefully dried to preserve its natural active compounds. Traditionally valued in European herbal medicine, agrimony is known as a gentle yet powerful plant for supporting the liver, digestion, and overall resilience.

This is a beautiful herb to turn to when digestion feels sluggish, the liver needs gentle stimulation, or the body feels depleted.

Liver Support & Detox Pathways

Agrimony is considered a classic liver tonic herb. Its bitter principles naturally stimulate liver activity and bile flow, helping the body:

  • Process fats more efficiently

  • Support natural detoxification pathways

  • Relieve feelings of heaviness after meals

  • Ease sluggish digestion

It is particularly useful after rich or heavy meals when you want to restore digestive balance.

Digestive Comfort

Agrimony has mild astringent and soothing properties that help:

  • Regulate intestinal secretions

  • Reduce bloating and digestive discomfort

  • Support gut tone

  • Help with occasional loose stools

It gently restores harmony in the digestive tract without being harsh.

Natural Immune Support

Traditionally, agrimony has been used to:

  • Support the body's natural defenses

  • Strengthen overall resistance

  • Promote recovery during seasonal challenges

Its polyphenols and plant compounds contribute to general vitality and resilience.

Energetic & Traditional Perspective

In traditional herbal practice, agrimony is associated with:

  • Supporting the liver–gut axis

  • Clearing stagnation

  • Promoting internal balance

  • Gently “lifting” digestive and emotional heaviness

It is often considered a herb for those who carry internal tension that affects digestion.

More information

Can Children drink it?

Agrimony (Agrimonia eupatoria) is considered a gentle and regulating herb that can also be used for children when prepared in appropriate amounts. It is traditionally valued for supporting sensitive digestion without being harsh or overstimulating.

For children, agrimony is especially suitable in cases of occasional loose stools or mild digestive upset. Its naturally astringent properties help tone and soothe the intestinal lining, supporting the body in restoring normal bowel rhythm.

It can also be helpful for children with sensitive or “nervous” digestion. Emotional tension, school transitions, travel, or changes in routine can sometimes affect the stomach. Agrimony supports digestive balance gently, without forcing or irritating the system.

After a mild stomach disturbance, agrimony infusion may help calm the digestive tract and support recovery.

🌿For children, prepare a lighter infusion:
Use ½–1 teaspoon per 250 ml hot water.
Cover and steep for 20–30 minutes.
Strain and offer small amounts throughout the day.

Children generally require approximately half the adult amount, depending on age and size.

Overall, agrimony is a mild, balancing herb that supports digestive harmony in both adults and children.

A little history

Agrimony (Agrimonia eupatoria) has been used in European herbal traditions for over 2,000 years. It was known to the ancient Greeks and Romans and was valued as a healing and toning herb.

The Greek physician Dioscorides (1st century AD) described agrimony as a plant beneficial for liver disorders and digestive complaints. In medieval Europe, it became a respected remedy in monastery gardens and traditional folk medicine.

During the Middle Ages, agrimony was considered a wound herb and was used externally to support skin healing. It was also taken internally as a strengthening infusion for digestive disturbances and general weakness.

In traditional European herbalism, agrimony became known as a “liver and gut herb,” used to stimulate digestion, tone the intestines, and restore balance after illness.

In folklore, agrimony was sometimes associated with emotional resilience and was believed to help those who carried hidden worries or internal tension - a reflection of how closely digestion and emotions have always been connected in traditional medicine.

Today, agrimony continues to be valued as a gentle bitter tonic and digestive regulator, carrying forward centuries of traditional use.
