How to use Essential Oils in the Bath?
You can easily and pleasantly discover how beneficial aromatherapy can be by adding a few drops of lavender essential oil to your next bath. You'll notice the difference right away. When you inhale the relaxing scent of the oil, its calmness and tranquility will uplift your energy, leaving you relaxed and reducing stress.
Here's how it works:
Through the nose- as we smell pleasant scents through the nose, we draw the healing molecules of the scent into the body. When essential oils are warmed in bathwater, the oil evaporates so that we can more easily inhale the molecules.
Through the skin- essential oils used on the skin with vegetable oil are absorbed into the blood and have an immediate effect.

How to get the essential oils into the water?
The essential oils are not water-soluble, so you need a Solubol to act as a carrier oil for them. Or you can add a teaspoon (5ml) of carrier oil (e.g. jojoba oil) in the palm of your hand, add the essential oils, and add to the bath. Swish your hand around in the water to disperse the oils.
A Solubol is like a magical helper that helps mix essential oils with water, so they can work together nicely in things like baths, making them smell good and feel nice on your skin!
Combat Skin Dryness
An effective method to combat skin dryness involves applying a plant oil to the body before bathing. Once in the bath, massage the oil into the skin. You can use any nourishing plant oil individually or mix them for added benefits. For each bath, add 2-5 drops of essential oil per teaspoon (5ml) of plant oil, using a teaspoon in each bath. Here's a blend that can be prepared for multiple baths:
Avocado oil - 2 teaspoons (10ml)
Apricot kernel oil - 2 teaspoons (10ml)
Almond, sweet oil - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
Add up to 20 drops of essential oils per 50ml of carrier oil.
Foot Baths
You can make a warming foot bath if you have cold or tired muscles. Cinnamon stimulates circulation and relieves cold and tired muscles after a long day.
Here's how:Fill a basin or foot bath with as hot water as you can tolerate.
2 drops of Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum)
5 drops of Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
Let your feet rest in the warm water for about 10 minutes.
In the Shower
Pour a little shower gel into your hand or a small cup, add 4-6 drops of essential oil (of your choice), and mix well. Rub the mixture into the skin using a washcloth or sponge. The steam from the shower will dissolve the essential oil, allowing you to inhale the scent and enhance its effects. A warm shower opens the pores and cleanses the skin.
Showering with cold water in the last few minutes of your shower can be beneficial because it helps to close your pores. When pores are open, they are more vulnerable to dirt and impurities getting inside, which can lead to clogged pores and breakouts. Cold water tightens the skin and constricts the pores, reducing the likelihood of debris getting trapped inside. Additionally, this cold blast can invigorate the skin and increase blood circulation, leaving you feeling refreshed and energized after your shower.
