Four Organic Botanicals for Heart & Cardiovascular Health

Organic Cardio combines hawthorn, olive leaf, garlic and meadowsweet in one organic food supplement for cardiovascular health and circulation.

Instead of taking several separate botanical supplements, you get four traditional European cardiovascular plants in one formula. Each daily serving provides the same substantial amount of every plant: 450 mg hawthorn, 450 mg olive leaf, 450 mg garlic and 450 mg meadowsweet, giving 1,800 mg of organic plant powders per day.

Why Combine These Four Plants?

The strength of Organic Cardio is that the plants have been chosen for different but complementary aspects of cardiovascular health.

Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) is one of Europe's best-known traditional cardiovascular plants. The flowering tops are used in this formula and have a long history of use in European herbalism for the heart and circulation.

Olive leaf (Olea europaea L.) brings a different Mediterranean tradition to the formula and is particularly associated with vascular health and blood pressure.

Garlic (Allium sativum) adds another important dimension. Beyond its familiar culinary use, garlic has a long history as a medicinal plant and is particularly valued in relation to cholesterol and blood lipids.

Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) completes the combination. Its flowering tops have a long history in European herbal medicine and broaden the traditional botanical profile of the formula.

This makes Organic Cardio particularly interesting if you are considering hawthorn for the heart, olive leaf for vascular support or garlic for cholesterol and blood lipids, but would prefer one combined formula rather than several separate supplements.

1,800 mg of Organic Plants per Day

The recommended daily amount of 6 capsules provides:

  • Hawthorn flowering tops: 450 mg
  • Garlic bulb: 450 mg
  • Olive leaf: 450 mg
  • Meadowsweet flowering tops: 450 mg

There are no token quantities hidden inside a long botanical blend. All four plants are present at 450 mg per day, so the formula is easy to understand and compare.

Organic & Made in France

The four botanicals come from certified organic agriculture and are supplied as plant powders in vegetable HPMC capsules.

Organic Cardio is manufactured in France, with raw botanical materials originating from the EU and non-EU.

More information

Botanical Information

Organic Cardio combines four plants with a strong place in European and Mediterranean herbal traditions. Each plant contributes a different traditional area of use, which is what makes the combination particularly interesting.

🌿Hawthorn – Crataegus monogyna

Plant family: Rosaceae
Plant part used: Flowering tops

Hawthorn is a thorny shrub or small tree native to Europe, with white flowers in spring followed by characteristic red fruits later in the year.

In European herbalism, the flowering tops are particularly associated with the heart and circulation. Hawthorn has traditionally been chosen when the focus is on cardiac function, circulation and the relationship between the heart and the vascular system.

The flowering tops used in Organic Cardio include the flowers together with the young leafy upper parts of the plant.

🌿Olive – Olea europaea L.

Plant family: Oleaceae
Plant part used: Leaf

The olive tree is an evergreen Mediterranean tree, but herbal preparations do not necessarily use the familiar fruit. In Organic Cardio, it is the olive leaf that is used.

Olive leaf has a long tradition of use in Mediterranean herbalism, particularly in preparations concerned with vascular health, circulation and blood pressure.

This makes olive leaf quite different botanically from olive oil. The leaf contains its own characteristic plant constituents and has its own place in herbal practice.

🌿Garlic – Allium sativum

Plant family: Amaryllidaceae
Plant part used: Bulb

Garlic is both a food and one of Europe's best-known traditional herbal plants. The part used is the bulb, made up of the individual cloves.

Traditionally, garlic has been particularly valued in relation to circulation and cardiovascular health. It is also well known in herbal practice for its relationship with cholesterol and blood lipids.

This gives garlic a different role within the four-plant combination than hawthorn and olive leaf.

🌿Meadowsweet – Filipendula ulmaria

Plant family: Rosaceae
Plant part used: Flowering tops

Meadowsweet is a perennial European herb that naturally favours damp meadows, riverbanks and other moist ground. It produces clusters of small, creamy-white, strongly aromatic flowers.

The flowering tops are used in Organic Cardio.

In traditional European herbalism, meadowsweet has been used particularly for joint comfort, digestive comfort and feverish conditions, as well as in preparations concerned with the body's natural elimination processes.

One of the plant's most characteristic features is its natural content of salicylate-related compounds, which is also why this product is not suitable for people with an allergy to salicylates.

🌿Why These Four Plants Together?

From a traditional herbal perspective, the formula brings together plants with different areas of emphasis rather than four versions of the same plant:

Hawthorn → heart and circulation
Olive leaf → vascular system and blood pressure
Garlic → circulation, cholesterol and blood lipids
Meadowsweet → a broader traditional European herbal component with its own distinctive salicylate-containing phytochemistry

That is the botanical logic behind Organic Cardio and what distinguishes it from taking hawthorn alone.

Usage tips

Take 6 capsules daily with a large glass of water during meals. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Each box contains 200 capsules, enough for approximately 33 days at the recommended daily amount.

A little history

The four plants in Organic Cardio come from botanical traditions that reach back centuries, and in some cases thousands of years.

Hawthorn has a particularly strong place in European herbal medicine. Its medicinal properties were already described by Dioscorides in De Materia Medica in the first century AD, a work that became one of the foundations of European herbal medicine for many centuries. Hawthorn later became especially associated in folk herbalism with preparations for the heart and circulation.

Garlic has an even older documented history. Archaeological and written evidence places it in ancient Egypt, and it appears in the Ebers Papyrus from around 1500 BC. Garlic occupied the fascinating space between food and medicine: it was eaten as an everyday food, while Greek medical writers also included it in medicinal and dietary preparations. It remained an important plant through Greek, Roman and later European herbal traditions.

Olive leaf belongs to the medicinal tradition surrounding one of the Mediterranean's most culturally important trees. While olives and olive oil became central to Mediterranean food culture, the leaves also developed their own place in folk medicine throughout the Mediterranean region. Written records from the early nineteenth century describe Spanish physicians using olive leaves in traditional preparations, and an account published in the Pharmaceutical Journal in 1854 documents the medicinal use of an olive-leaf tincture.

Meadowsweet is a distinctly European herb, traditionally found in damp meadows and along waterways. An especially interesting part of its story is hidden in its old botanical name, Spiraea ulmaria. Meadowsweet became associated with the early development of salicylate chemistry, and the name aspirin itself was derived partly from Spiraea. The plant is now botanically classified as Filipendula ulmaria, but the older name survives as an intriguing link between traditional European herbalism and the later development of modern medicines.

Together, these four plants connect ancient Mediterranean food and medicine, classical European herbal knowledge and later phytotherapy. That long botanical lineage is an important part of what makes the Organic Cardio formula so interesting today.

Precautions for use

Do not use if you are allergic to salicylates. Use is not recommended for people taking anticoagulants, nor for children and adolescents.

FAQ

🌿 Why choose Organic Cardio instead of Hawthorn on its own?
Hawthorn gives you one botanical. Organic Cardio combines four different plants in equal amounts: hawthorn, olive leaf, garlic and meadowsweet. This makes it a good choice if you are interested in several of these traditional European botanicals but prefer one formula rather than taking separate supplements. The daily amount provides 450 mg of each plant, 1,800 mg in total.

🌿 Which parts of the plants are actually used?
This is worth checking because different parts of the same plant can have very different uses in herbalism. Organic Cardio contains hawthorn flowering tops, garlic bulb, olive leaf and meadowsweet flowering tops. So, for example, this is an olive leaf preparation, not an olive oil supplement, and the hawthorn comes from the flowering tops, not the berries.

🌿 Is Organic Cardio an extract or a plant powder formula?
It contains botanical powders, not concentrated extracts. That distinction matters when comparing supplements. You cannot directly compare 450 mg of a plant powder with 450 mg of a concentrated extract because they are different preparations. Organic Cardio provides 450 mg of each botanical powder per daily amount.

🌿 How many capsules do I take, and how long does one box last?
Take 6 capsules per day with a large glass of water during meals. With 200 capsules in the box, one box lasts approximately 33 days at the recommended daily amount.

🌿 Can I take Organic Cardio if I use blood thinners?
The product is not recommended for people taking anticoagulant medication. It should also not be used if you are allergic to salicylates, because the formula contains meadowsweet. If you use cardiovascular or blood-pressure medication and are considering a multi-botanical supplement like this, discuss it with your doctor or pharmacist before use.

🌿 What makes olive leaf different from olive oil?
Olive leaf and olive oil come from the same tree, but they are very different botanical preparations. Organic Cardio uses the leaf of the olive tree, which naturally contains characteristic plant compounds including oleuropein. So when olive leaf appears in a herbal formula, it is not simply another way of taking olive oil.

🌿 Why is meadowsweet an interesting plant in the formula?
Meadowsweet is chemically quite different from the other three plants. Its flowering tops naturally contain salicylate-related plant compounds, one of the features for which the plant is particularly well known in herbalism. This is also relevant from a safety perspective: Organic Cardio should not be used by people who are allergic to salicylates.

🌿 Is Organic Cardio organic?
Yes. The four botanical ingredients are from certified organic agriculture. The formula contains organic hawthorn, garlic, olive leaf and meadowsweet in vegetable HPMC capsules.

🌿 Who is Organic Cardio for?
Organic Cardio is for people who want to take care of their heart and cardiovascular health, particularly when blood pressure, circulation or cholesterol are areas they are paying attention to.
