Java Citronella essential oil is a 100% pure and natural oil obtained through steam distillation of the aerial parts of the tropical herb Cymbopogon winterianus. Known for its fresh, lemony aroma, this oil is a staple in many Southeast Asian cultures, particularly in Thai cuisine, where its scent pairs beautifully with coconut milk.

    Usage tips

    1. Natural Insect Repellent
    Citronella oil is a well-known insect repellent. Add 10 drops to a spray bottle with 100ml of water, shake well, and spray around outdoor areas, doorways, or directly on your skin (diluted with a carrier oil) to keep bugs away.

    2. Diffuse for a Fresh Atmosphere
    Add 5-6 drops of citronella oil to your diffuser to freshen up your space. The uplifting lemony scent purifies the air, creating a refreshing and clean environment.

    3. Outdoor Candle Blend
    Enhance outdoor gatherings by adding 10 drops of citronella oil to melted soy wax before pouring it into a candle jar. Light the candle to repel mosquitoes and enjoy summer evenings without pests.

    4. All-Natural Deodorizer
    Mix 10 drops of citronella oil with 200ml of water in a spray bottle. Use it to naturally deodorize rooms, shoes, or gym bags. Citronella’s fresh scent helps neutralize unpleasant odors.

    5. Soothing Muscle Rub
    To soothe tired muscles, mix 5 drops of citronella oil with 15ml of carrier oil (such as coconut or jojoba) and massage into the affected areas. Perfect for post-exercise relaxation.

    6. Pet Repellent
    Deter pets from chewing furniture or entering restricted areas by mixing 10 drops of citronella oil with 100ml of water. Spray onto surfaces to keep pets away, as they dislike the scent.

    7. DIY Household Cleaner
    Create a natural cleaner by mixing 20 drops of citronella oil with 500ml of warm water and 15ml of vinegar in a spray bottle. It’s an effective surface cleaner that also repels insects.

    8. Foot Soak for Odor Relief
    For tired or sweaty feet, add 5 drops of citronella oil and 15ml of Epsom salt to a warm foot bath. Soak your feet for 10-15 minutes to refresh and deodorize.

    9. Relaxing Bath Blend
    Unwind with a relaxing bath by adding 5 drops of citronella oil and 15ml of carrier oil (like sweet almond) to warm bathwater. The citrus scent promotes mental clarity and relaxation.

    10. DIY Carpet Freshener
    Mix 10-15 drops of citronella oil with 100ml of baking soda. Sprinkle the mixture on your carpets, leave it for 15 minutes, and then vacuum to leave your home smelling fresh.

    Food dosage: 1 drop in a dish for 5 people (never exceed 2%)

    Always use the essential oil diluted in suitable support (ex: vegetable oil, honey...)

    Soluble in alcohol, fatty substances (vegetable oils and butter), and creams (emulsions).

    Insoluble in water. It is however possible to use it as a mixture in these types of products but pre-mixed with Solubol (in this case it is necessary to put 4 times more solubol than essential oil).

    General Guidelines for Diffusing Around Pets:
    1. Diffusion Time: Limit diffusing sessions to 15-20 minutes.
    2. When trying a new essential oil, use 1-2 drops (in the diffuser) and observe how your dog or cat reacts.
    3. Ventilation: Keep the area well-ventilated.
    4. Observation: Always monitor pets for any signs of distress when diffusing essential oils.
