Supports Digestion and Cholesterol

Rich in natural soluble fiber, psyllium husk is valued for its ability to support healthy intestinal function. It helps maintain regularity and can soften stools, making it a gentle daily ally for digestion. Psyllium is also known to contribute to the maintenance of normal cholesterol levels, supporting cardiovascular well-being.

Easy to Use

Our finely ground psyllium powder dissolves easily in liquids - unlike many other psyllium products. You can stir it into water, juice, smoothies, compote, or yogurt. It also works beautifully in baking recipes as a natural thickener and texturizer, similar to agar-agar. Naturally gluten-free, sugar-free, and lactose-free, it’s a smart addition to plant-based, low-carb, or ketogenic diets.

Premium Quality & Safety

We source our psyllium from India, where it is cultivated using traditional and sustainable farming methods. The powder is pure, free from additives, GMOs, pesticides, and heavy metals. Certified organic and carefully packaged in a resealable bag in our family workshop in France, it retains all its natural goodness and freshness.

A little history

Psyllium comes from several species of Plantago, especially Plantago ovata, native to India and Iran. The name “psyllium” actually comes from the Greek word psylla, meaning “flea,” because the tiny seeds look like little insects.

In ancient medicine, psyllium seeds and husks were already valued. Greek and Roman physicians (like Hippocrates and Dioscorides) described their use for soothing the digestive tract and regulating bowel movements. The Romans also used it in poultices for skin irritations.

In Ayurvedic and Unani traditions of India, psyllium (known as Isabgol or Ispaghula) has been used for centuries as a gentle, natural digestive aid. It was recommended for constipation, diarrhea, and as a cooling agent for the intestines. Ayurvedic texts praise it as a “sattvic” (pure, balanced) food that supports harmony in the body.

During the Middle Ages, psyllium traveled along the trade routes. It was introduced into Europe through Arab physicians, who passed on knowledge of its medicinal properties. It gained popularity as a plant-based remedy for gut health.

In the modern era, especially from the 19th century onwards, psyllium husk became widely studied and commercialized in Europe and North America. By the 20th century it was officially recognized in pharmacopoeias as a source of soluble fiber. Today, it is one of the best-researched natural fibers, recommended for cholesterol management, digestive support, and dietary fiber enrichment.

So in short: a tiny seed that has hopped cultures like its namesake flea - from ancient Greece and Rome, through Ayurveda in India, into Arabic medicine, and finally modern Western nutrition science.
