EPAX® Omega-3 capsules provide a high-strength, pure, and well-balanced source of essential omega-3 fatty acids, carefully extracted from sustainably sourced fish. These fatty acids play a vital role in supporting brain function, the nervous system, vision, and cardiovascular health.

Produced according to the strict EPAX® quality standards, this omega-3 supplement guarantees purity, freshness, and optimal absorption.

Why Omega-3 Is Essential

Omega-3 fatty acids are structural components of brain cells and the retina of the eye. Because the body cannot produce them on its own, they must be obtained through diet or supplementation.

This formula is particularly rich in EPA and DHA, two highly bioavailable omega-3 fatty acids known for their broad physiological benefits.

Brain, Vision & Cognitive Support

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision. Each daily dose provides a high level of DHA, supporting focus, memory, and long-term cognitive health.

Heart & Cardiovascular Health

Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and DHA contribute to normal heart function. Together, they help support healthy circulation and overall cardiovascular balance as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Premium EPAX® Quality You Can Trust

EPAX® is internationally recognised for its exceptional standards in omega-3 production, ensuring traceability, sustainability, and purity from sea to capsule.

More information

Omega-3 and omega-6 are polyunsaturated fats known as essential fatty acids (EFAs). They are considered essential because the human body cannot produce them on its own. Unlike plants, animals are unable to create these fatty acids internally, which means they must be obtained through food.

Essential fatty acids play a fundamental role in the body. They are used to build, maintain, and repair the membranes that surround every cell. Healthy cell membranes are crucial for communication between cells, nutrient exchange, and overall cellular function. The nervous system, and especially the brain, is particularly dependent on an adequate supply of these fats.

Omega-3 fatty acids are deeply involved in brain and nerve activity. They help support the electrical signalling system of the brain by contributing to the structure and function of nerve cells. These highly unsaturated fats support oxygen use, electrical activity, and nerve impulse transmission.

Within the omega-3 family, the most important fatty acids are:

- EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid)
- DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid)

EPA and DHA are found primarily in cold-water fish and marine organisms. Fish contain high levels of omega-3 because they consume red algae, which is the original source of these fatty acids in the marine food chain.

Another omega-3 fatty acid is ALA (Alpha-linolenic acid), which is found in plant foods such as flaxseed (linseed), chia seeds, hemp seeds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, soybeans, and, in smaller amounts, olives and olive oil. ALA is the precursor that the body can convert into EPA and then into DHA through several enzymatic steps.

DHA is the most highly unsaturated fatty acid in the omega-3 family and is especially concentrated in the body:

- Around 25% of the brain consists of DHA
- Approximately 40% of the cortical grey matter is DHA
- About 90% of the fatty acids in the retina are DHA

When omega-3 is consumed directly from fish oil, EPA and DHA are already present in their active forms and are readily available to the body. However, some large fish species may accumulate environmental contaminants such as heavy metals and other pollutants. For this reason, purity, sourcing, and purification standards are essential when choosing a fish oil supplement.

Many people today are low in essential fatty acids. Factors such as high sugar intake, chronic stress, alcohol consumption, trans fats (commonly found in fast and ultra-processed foods), and certain medications can interfere with the body’s ability to convert ALA into EPA and DHA.

Because polyunsaturated fats are delicate and can oxidise easily, they are best consumed in their natural form or as carefully processed, well-protected oils that preserve their stability and nutritional value.
