A true essential for kitchen, beauty, and daily care

Perfect for cooking – even at high temperatures
Not all oils are made for heat. Our unrefined organic coconut oil is fully edible and exceptionally stable when cooking, making it ideal for frying, baking, and sautéing without burning. Naturally rich in healthy fats, it fits beautifully into a ketogenic lifestyle and everyday cooking alike.

Stronger, healthier-looking hair
This pure white coconut oil is naturally rich in lauric acid, a fatty acid with a strong affinity for hair proteins. It penetrates deeply from root to tip, helping to nourish, protect, and support healthy hair growth. Used as a hair mask - just like shea butter - it is suitable for all hair types: dry, straight, wavy, curly, or coily.

Soft, nourished, and comfortable skin
Bioptimal coconut oil offers deeply moisturizing and nourishing care for dry and sensitive skin. Easily absorbed, it helps soothe redness and supports skin comfort in conditions such as dryness or irritation. Traditionally used to support skin elasticity, it is appreciated for massage, stretch mark care, and overall skin softness. Suitable for women, men, and babies, it can be used as an aftershave or a gentle massage oil with a light, natural coconut aroma.

A multi-purpose bathroom essential
Coconut oil quickly becomes a daily favorite thanks to its versatility. Use it as a natural makeup remover, lip balm, or deodorant. Combined with baking soda and peppermint essential oil, it can also be used to create a simple, natural toothpaste.

Premium quality & ethical sourcing
Our coconut oil is raw and extra virgin, obtained by first cold pressing fresh coconut flesh to preserve its natural nutrients. Packaged in glass jars for optimal quality, it comes from sustainable coconut farming in Sri Lanka, produced without animal cruelty. Free from additives, inspected in France, and certified organic, it meets the highest standards of purity and safety.

A little History

Coconuts likely originated in the Indo-Pacific region and spread naturally along coastlines, helped by their ability to float and remain viable in seawater. Wherever coconuts landed—South Asia, Southeast Asia, Polynesia, coastal Africa, later the Caribbean - people didn’t just eat them. They used everything.

In Ayurveda, coconut oil has been documented for more than 3,000 years. It was valued as a cooling oil, used to soothe the skin, calm excess heat in the body, nourish the scalp, and support digestion. It appears in classical texts as a base oil for herbal preparations, massage (abhyanga), and hair rituals, especially in hot, humid climates where heavier animal fats spoiled quickly.

Across Southeast Asia, coconut oil became a daily household staple. It was used for cooking, oil lamps, skin protection from sun and salt air, wound care, and infant massage. In places like Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines, it was not considered a “special product,” but a foundational one - like water or fire.

In Polynesian cultures, coconut oil held both practical and symbolic value. It was used to anoint the body, protect skin during long sea voyages, maintain hair, and as part of spiritual rituals. Smooth, oiled skin wasn’t cosmetic vanity; it was protection, health, and respect for the body.

Along the African coast, coconut oil became integrated into traditional medicine and foodways after early trade routes expanded. It was used for skin conditioning, hair care, and cooking, especially where palm oil wasn’t available.

When coconut oil reached Europe, its role shifted. During the colonial period, it became industrialized - used in soaps, candles, and later margarine. This is where its reputation began to wobble. Hydrogenation and refining stripped the oil of its original qualities, and for much of the 20th century it was judged through the narrow lens of “saturated fat,” divorced from its traditional context.

Only in recent decades did coconut oil experience a kind of rehabilitation. Researchers began looking not just at fat content, but at fat structure - especially medium-chain fatty acids like lauric acid. At the same time, people rediscovered traditional food cultures and skin rituals, realizing that coconut oil had been used safely and effectively for thousands of years long before nutrition labels existed.

Historically, coconut oil was never a miracle cure. It was a daily ally: nourishing, protective, stable, versatile. A substance you could cook with, rub on your skin, use on your hair, soothe a baby with, light a lamp with, or trade across oceans.
