Usage tips

Descaling Household Appliances (Small & Large)

1. Coffee makers, kettles, faucets, shower heads & water reducers

Dilute 1–2 tablespoons (15–30 g) of citric acid in 1 litre of cold water

Use this solution to descale appliances and fittings

Rinse thoroughly with clean water after descaling

2. Washing machine descaling

Add 6–8 tablespoons (90–120 g) of citric acid directly into the drum

Run an empty cycle at 90°C

Rinse by running a short cycle with clean water if needed

3. Dishwasher Descaler
What it does: Cleans internal parts and removes mineral buildup.

How to use:
Place 3–4 tablespoons (45–60 g) of citric acid in the detergent compartment

Run an empty hot cycle

Use every 1–2 months

4. Shower, Taps & Bathroom Surfaces
What it does: Dissolves limescale and soap residue.

How to use:
Mix 2 tablespoons (30 g) of citric acid in 500 ml warm water

Spray or apply with a cloth

Leave for 5–10 minutes

Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry

5. Toilet Bowl Cleaner
What it does: Removes limescale rings and mineral stains.

How to use:
Pour 3–4 tablespoons (45–60 g) into the toilet bowl

Leave to act for 30 minutes to overnight

Scrub lightly and flush

6. Stainless Steel & Enamel Cleaning
What it does: Removes water spots and dullness.

How to use:
Dissolve 1 tablespoon (15 g) in 250 ml warm water

Apply with a soft cloth

Rinse and dry immediately to avoid streaks

7. Rust Stains on Textiles
What it does: Helps lift light rust and mineral stains.

How to use:
Dissolve 1 tablespoon (15 g) in 1 litre hot water

Soak the affected area

Rinse thoroughly and wash as usual

8. DIY All-Purpose Descaling Spray
What it does: Everyday eco-friendly limescale cleaner.

Recipe:
1 tablespoon (15 g) citric acid

500 ml warm water

Shake until fully dissolved. Store in a clearly labelled spray bottle.
