A little history

Marjoram has marked history with its fragrant imprint since it was already cultivated in the Egypt of the Pharaohs. In the time of the Greeks and Romans, she crowned the heads of young brides to bring good luck and promote conception.

You may be tempted to confuse oregano with marjoram, but cooks are not mistaken. These two plants may be close, but the perfume of the first is due to its thymol content, which marjoram is completely devoid of. It takes about 100Kg of flowers to obtain 300ml of essential oil.
