16. Method for Naturally Soft Towels Using Baking Soda:

Wash with Baking Soda:
- Add about 125 ml of baking soda directly into your washing machine drum with your towels.
- Use your regular detergent but skip fabric softener, as it can build up and stiffen fibers.
- Rinse with Vinegar:
For extra softness, during the rinse cycle, add 125 ml of white vinegar and 5–8 drops essential oil (e.g., lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, or a blend) to the fabric softener compartment.

Method:
- Mix vinegar and essential oil thoroughly in a cup or small container.
- Add this blend into your washing machine’s fabric softener compartment.

Vinegar will dissolve mineral deposits and detergent residues, further softening the fibers.

Tips for Best Results:
- Lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, and peppermint oils are especially fresh and pleasant for towels.
- Always mix essential oils with vinegar first (rather than adding oils directly into the machine) for even distribution.
- Avoid using too much essential oil; 5–8 drops are sufficient to achieve a lasting fragrance without staining your towels.

Drying Without Tumble Dryer:

After washing, vigorously shake towels before hanging to dry. This loosens fibers and improves softness.

Dry towels outdoors on a breezy day or indoors on a drying rack, making sure they’re fully spread out for air circulation.

To reduce stiffness, fluff towels by hand periodically while they dry.

Why This Works:
Baking soda neutralizes acidity, removes residues, and loosens fibers, improving softness and absorbency.
White vinegar dissolves leftover detergent and mineral deposits that cause stiffness.

Result:
Your towels will feel noticeably softer, fresher, and more absorbent - even without a dryer!
